Unipower Battery Ltd (“Unipower”) is a China based provider of lithium-ion materials and battery solutions.
Producing high-quality material and batteries solution for the Electric Vehicle (“EV”) and power storage industries, Unipower is supported by patents, facilities and a technical management team with more than 20 years of experience.
Unipower is a spin-out from the Huanyu Group, an established battery manufacturing concern in Henan province of China. Founded in 1982, Huanyu Group has accumulated many years of battery research and development expertise, efficient and low-cost battery production experience and strong relationships with major electric bus and car manufacturers in China. As a spin off from the Huanyu Group, Unipower and its management is a continuation of this success, network and IP.
While Unipower plans to supply battery systems to a broad range of EVs including hybrids, plug-in hybrids and pure battery vehicles, the company’s current focus is on public transportation market. Driven largely by China’s policies to promote the EV sector, Unipower has been supplying its batteries to a number of E-bus manufacturers since early 2009. On the back of its early mover advantage and strong demand its products, Unipower is in the process of rapidly scale its production capacity. The battery business is further complemented by its material division that increases overall margins and mitigates supply chain risks.
Unipower has manufacturing facilities in Xinxiang City, Henan Province with sales and marketing in Beijing. Key investors include Origo and China Equity.
